Handmade Furniture Studio — Bespoke Design, Expert Joinery, Lasting Objects

We design and craft durable furniture that celebrates material honesty and human scale. Each project — whether an individual dining table, a set of custom chairs, a fitted cabinet or a small collection for a boutique interior — is developed through careful measurement, iterative sketching and tactile prototyping. Our work blends traditional joinery, precision milling and considered finishes so every piece is serviceable, maintainable, and capable of being handed down. We prioritise local timber sources, stable finishes, and fastenings that facilitate repair rather than disposal.

Clients collaborate directly with makers: concept meetings, sample boards, mockups, and a production timeline that includes quality checkpoints. We provide installation and a modest warranty backed by serviceable replacement components. For interior projects we liaise with designers to align visual language, ergonomics and on-site tolerances.

Studio Strengths — Why our furniture endures

Design intelligence, timber stewardship and a repair-first ethic underpin everything we make.

wood detail and joinery

Material Selection & Traceability

We select timber with attention to provenance, growth density and stability. Where possible we use reclaimed planks or responsibly sourced local timbers with chain-of-custody documentation. Materials are checked for moisture content and graded for intended use — structural frames use quarter-sawn, stable stock; visible surfaces are chosen for grain and tactile quality. This deliberate selection reduces movement and ensures that finishes behave predictably through seasonal humidity changes. For clients concerned about impact, we provide material dossiers and recommended maintenance schedules so long-term performance is transparent and reliable.

Joinery, Fit & Repairability

Our pieces employ classic joinery strategies—mortise-and-tenon, through-tenons, dovetails—enhanced by modern tolerances where needed. Rather than hiding connections, we celebrate logical details that make repair straightforward: replaceable wear surfaces, serviceable hardware and accessible fasteners. This approach means a table leg can be re-fitted, a drawer rebuilt, or a finish renewed without destroying the piece. We provide care and repair guides and offer an optional refurbishment service to refresh objects years after purchase.

Small-Batch Production & Prototyping

For designers and retailers seeking distinct collections, we run limited production batches with controlled tolerances. Digital CAM and precise jigs enable repeatability while hand-finishing restores individuality. Each pilot run includes prototype approval, small-scale QC, and a sampling stage so the first pieces validate surface treatments, assembly times and packaging logistics. By keeping batches small we preserve craft quality and adapt to custom requests without wasteful overproduction.

Finishes & Long-term Performance

We favor finishes that are durable, serviceable and low-toxicity. Natural oils, repairable wax systems and waterborne topcoats are specified according to use-case — kitchen surfaces receive more durable cure systems while lounge pieces prioritize hand-feel and renewability. Finishes are tested for abrasion, spill resistance and UV stability; we provide maintenance instructions including periodic re-oiling and minor surface repair techniques to extend lifespan and preserve patina.

Client Collaboration & Documentation

Every commission includes staged approvals: concept sketches, scale mockups, material samples, and final sign-off drawings. We keep clear production documentation—material lists, assembly guides, and installation notes—so clients or site teams understand staging and on-site tolerances. This reduces surprises and ensures installations fit without costly rework.

Sustainable Packaging & Local Delivery

Furniture is packaged with reusable crates, recycled packing materials and minimal single-use plastics. For local clients we offer hand-delivery and on-site installation; for long-distance deliveries we coordinate protective crating and insured transport to preserve item condition in transit.

Origins & Studio Philosophy

The studio grew from a small workshop where a handful of makers explored how everyday objects could be remade for longevity. Early experiments prioritized repairable assemblies and visible craft details rather than disguised mass-produced joints. Over time the approach matured into a balanced practice that leverages both hand skill and measured machine work. We build to last, and we measure success by how often an object is chosen for everyday use rather than replaced.

Our team combines trained joiners, surface specialists and a project coordinator who ensures timelines and approvals are honoured. We work with independent designers, architects and private clients who value depth in material selection and honesty in detailing. The studio also runs periodic workshops to share skills—basic joinery, finishing techniques and simple repair methods—so owners can maintain their own pieces and feel confident in small interventions.

Sustainability is practical: long-life objects use fewer resources over decades than cheap disposables. That belief shapes our sourcing, production pace and packaging choices—measures that together reduce ecological impact while elevating human connection to crafted objects.

Offerings — What we make & provide

Custom commissions, small production runs, repairs and design partnerships.

finished furniture collection

Bespoke Commissions

Tailored furnishings made to exact site dimensions: tables, cabinets, shelving, and fitted pieces. The process covers briefing, concept development, technical drawing, prototype approval and final production with delivery and installation. We support complex joinery, integrated lighting and concealed hardware where required.

Small-Batch Collections

Limited edition furniture runs for designers and retailers. Includes sampling, numbering, and coordinated packaging. Small batches retain hand-finished qualities while offering coherent collections for retail presentation.

Repair & Refurbishment

Restoration of heirloom pieces and repair services that extend the life of furniture: structural repairs, re-gluing joints, reglazing, re-upholstery coordination and surface renewal.

Design Partnerships & Consultancy

Collaboration with interior designers, architects and product designers to develop furniture that aligns with spatial plans, manufacturing budgets and performance criteria. We provide technical drawings, material advice and production scheduling guidance.

Prototyping & Testing

Rapid prototyping and small-scale functional tests to validate ergonomics, joinery strength and finish performance before committing to a production run.

Delivery, Installation & Aftercare

Hand delivery and careful on-site installation, plus optional aftercare packages including annual inspection and minor servicing to keep pieces performing as intended.
